In the last year, Esato has grown to one of the largest online communities for mobile phone enthusiast. We have been focusing on Sony Ericsson products, and hopefully helped a lot of their customers to choose which products was right for them. The services we are offering have always been free for the end user, and this is punishing us now. The site has been run without financial support from Sony Ericsson or others and we have paid for all the expenses ourselves. Our savings account is now empty, and it’s most likely that we must shut down Esato within a couple of weeks.
Esato could not have become what it is without our faithful members. You have discovered secret games, provided useful information for new owners of  mobile phones and helped newbies setting up their phones for WAP, MMS and GPRS access. Some of you have also switched from to other phone manufactures, but still come back to Esato for more. 
Yesterday was the day with most post to the Esato forum. 1215 posts were written and 26846 users visited the site. Good for the Esato community, but bad for our bandwidth expenses. The "Make a donation" campaign haven't helped much either. But warm thoughts goes to the one who donate a couple of dollars.

Maybe u can get ericsson to supply phones to esato and then u could start selling ?

This is terrible news! One of the symptoms of size killing a supreme website! Esato is the best source of information about SE products there is on the net!
How big is the gap that needs to be filled? |

I'm very sorry to hear this news. I haven't posted much in Esato (only when I've had a problem with my T68) but have been following it daily since January. Its helped me and I enjoy it.
...I've just donated $20 using Laffen's link. Come on everybody - do what you can and lets keep this thing going.

I don't wish to be cynical - your idea is a step in the right direction. But I would suggest what Laffen needs now is cash... & quickly.
Surely a small donation from just a small no. of regulars will suffice? |
