k850 has purple fringing which means lens is of low quality and cannot be fixed by any software. A disappointment if you ask me.

Yea, if the K850's camera is not outstanding - there's little point to the phone. Might as well get one of the other phones with all the latest bells (WiFi) and wistles (GPS ect) and put up with an OK camera.

@jakontil: yes. The size given is not sensor size actually, but focal length (distance from center of lens to point of focus [sensor]). This gives some hint on the sensor size and you could calculate the sensor size from this.

Very nice read. I seriously expected more from the specialized "Cybershot" branded K850. After all, all the K850 has going for it is the camera and not much else. The 'almost' year old N95 held it's own and surpassed it in certain aspects is not a good sign for SE. I hope SE irons out the camera in it's final retail version.

No doubts that in the pre-released versions the K850i is a huge dissapointment, beaten easily by both the N95 and Samsung G600.

If what mibbs said was true, and the lens really is poor, the final version isnt gonna be better.

An all-in-one device trashes a dedicated Cybershot phone. That should reduce the K850 to total scrap if we start comparing other features. It's midday and the alarm clock still hasn't rang at SE
