All R2B software are almost the same except for the language pack. Smartnet uses a language pack that suited for the Philippines coz have Tagalog in it. Semicon uses different asian language pack.
Regarding LCD, there's some unit sold out there that the resolution of the LCD is not so good. So far, there's no software to upgrade the LCD, not even Semicon or Smartnet.
Dan47 maybe your T68 gold is one of those unit sold.

i'm not so sure about the thing that there's no software for the lcd. i had my phone upgraded at smartnet monday and noticed that there was no font consistency. then, i decided to have it upgrade again with semicon. dan47, i think we have noticed the same thing. before my unit was upgraded at semicon, my "second upgrade," the lcd was not as clear as how it was with smartnet's upgrade. well, as long as our lcds are colored right? i guess that's better than those nokia phones who have colored lcd but no gprs yet... wow! poor phones... (para bang hindi nokia user for almost 6 years...) pero even the nokia 9290 for North Am, di pa rin sure kung ire-release nila dun or iho-hold back nila because of marketing problems. labo kase ng design ng phone na yun eh.. limited for US only.. weird.. sayang naman investments ng users ng phones..

I don't this SW version has to do wtih the LCD, after my friend's update from R1B to R2A his LCD remains the same. Ewan ko lang sa R2B. In my opinion LCD screen is hardware whereas R2B is a software version. Pls. correct me if I'm wrong...
About the language, my T68 has European language thats why the Ericsson CS staff check first my phone's languages menu. I believe they 2 software version for 2 different phone pack, Local(Singapore) and Europe(Sweden). Mine has Italian, Deutsch, English and French. But I want the Tagalog

my suck t68 was replaced courtesy of smartnet phil. (remember the Wont Full Charge thingy?)

they replaced me w/a brand new T68 with
R2B version on asian language pack ( tagalog viet, thai), the LCD is clearer than my sis's and friend's T68, and not as yellowish as my suck t68

i guess all new versions, units have clearer, crispier LCD color.

Try going to semicon or call and ask for lcd update. 635-55-21 to 22 , 926-5270, 806-6922

I think my phone's colors got better when I upgraded...I'm not sure about the LCD software though, whether it was upgraded as well or not... Didn't bother to check before.

I got 2 mc's upgraded at sony-ericsson north edsa free of charge yesterday. The latest version is r7a013 which comes in two language packs, Chinese (the one with inconsistent font sizes) and Bahasa (the one without wuziqi).

I just wanted the users to know that its free of charge (even non-warranty units) and the employees were as polite as the people at smartnet and semicon sm manila.

Good day! [addsig]
