I attempted to update the firmware of my W810i using SEUS, and the USB connection was lost part way through the process, and the phone died. Lucky enough my warranty replaced it. I was using Virtual PC on Mac OS X. I believe that when updating through SEUS the USB connection restarts and Virtual PC doesn't handle things well and Windows and OSX, which are running together, mess things up.

Has anyone had success with using Guest PC and updating? I don't want to try unless I know that it's likely to succeed, or I can fix things if it dies again, as my phone is no longer under warranty.

Also, if the phone dies on me, can taking it to get flashed, and whatever else they do, restore it?

Thanks

Hi,

I used Mac OSX 10.4 wit Parallels Desktop 3 (running WinXP) to update the Firmware of my W810i. This worked flawless (several times). I only don't switch over from screens when updating (I keep parallels active; just to be sure).

The combo OSX10.5 with VMWare Fusion and WinXP works good too.

Cheers,

U can do everything with parallels or vmware fusion.
I've tried them both.
