my brother gave me his used SE z610i, unbranded, unlocked. it works, but loses network signal. because he dropped it, I thought maybe phone is broken. I really like this model, so I bought another, slightly used, also unlocked, previously used with at&t carrier (my sim card is also from this carrier). and surprise :/ I have exactly the same problem with second SE z610i. it loses signal too. sometimes signal is very strong, but often I have no signal.
anybody knows what's going on? for sure it is not a problem with the sim card, because is works perfectly with my old nokia and my friend's phone - signal strenght is excellent.

will be very grateful for any hints

i have the same problem before, try to drain the battery and keep the phone off for atleast an hour. I unintentionally done this and it works. Avoid using replacement chargers. use original se charger only.

If this does'nt work, it needs to replace the capacitor of the antenna. Do mention this chip to the repair shop before u let them do your phone.

thx for the answer. to drain the battery, you mean to discharge it totally and then keep the phone off for some time and then charge it?

Are you using that phone on AT&T/Cingular? If so, that phone lacks 850mhz that AT&T requires, and thus you are going to get very poor reception depending on your area.
