Sony Ericsson today announced the G705 slider phone model for the America market. G705u, a special version of the G705 was also announced. G705u is the first UMA enabled phone from Sony Ericsson making it possible to roam between mobile- and LAN networks.

The Sony Ericsson G705 and G705u have most features in common exept that the G705u is UMA enabled. UMA enables users to seamlessly roam between the mobile network and local area networks thanks to GSM/Wi-Fi™ dual capabilities. UMA functionality is depending on operator implementation. Both G705 and G705u has built in aGPS and Google Maps pluss Wayfinder navigation. Well, can't expect a new concept from something named as mundane as "G705". Well specced though, and love the minimalist design going on there. Just love it. Is it really just for the American market?
