Guys, here is the FM Radio of the HTC Touch HD (WVGA) for those who would like to use their FM Radio w/o switching panels.

Other advantages: Scrolling RDS, sleep timer, mono/stereo switch, signal indicator

Tested & working. (only exiting takes a bit long)

http://rapidshare.com/files/173652479/FM_Radio_Touch_HD.zip

Download the zip file & extract the contents to the folders shown in the folder names and enjoy

If your phone has a language other than English, find the file FMRadio.exe.0409.mui and replace the bold number in the filename with your own language code first. You can check your language code here. It's the code in the LCIDHex column.

Look's nice, downloading...

Isn't there a little app called WVGA stretch or fix or something?
Perhaps i can stretch the radio to cover the whole screen ?

Anyone knows?

I suppose the the radio can run in the background with this app, or ?

Thank's

No longer necessary. See changes in first post. (uninstall the VGA version first..)

There is no problem with your question.

I updated the first post with the HD WVGA version after your post

@myth

The radio doesn't start on my swedish Xperia. Is there perhaps something more to do, like changing some file name (like FMRadio.exe.0409 to something with swedish country code 041d) ?

Will try.

OOPS, it works!

Renamed FMRadio.exe.0409 to FMRadio.exe.041d, now it starts !!

Yes, forgot to mention that.

If you have any lanuage other than English, you have to rename that file.

Glad it works now

But where is the scrollling RDS info?

Mine just shows channel name, whereas X1 Radio Panel shows a little more info like program name.

It definitely scrolls

Some radio stations broadcast only the name of their station as RDS info.

Try it with others...

Already tried.

I compared the same radio channel (channels infact) between FMRadio and X1 Radio Panel and saw the difference (program name shown in X1 Radio Panel).

That's strange, as for me it's working well.

What do you get ? Only the frequency numbers ?

Look at the second screenshot, which shows the beginning of the broadcast of a radio station when I took it.

It shows for example "SR P1" (Swedish Radio Program 1), where the X1 Panel showed "SR P1 - Kulturkanalen"

Yes, but the panel shows that in 2-3 parts, right ?

And the app shows first the beginning but is then supposed to scroll the remaining part of the text.

No, SR P1 did not do any scrolling (not even in blocks).

But I found another channel where the scrolling sort of works, it shows the text in blocks of 5-6 characters. Interesting..

This is an ad financed channel with scrolling RDS text (obviously), the channels I looked at before just had some extra channel info (which is not seen in FMRadio) but did not scroll RDS text.

So I guess you are right.

Thank's for this fine app !
