Hello all those with the SAMM installed in working condition. I have searched all throughout the Internet but there was no proper installation guide. At topsony, the y say (for version 2), youhave to create a folder of this name:
%DIR_OTHER|MEM_INTERNAL%/SAMM
which is impossible since | is an illegal character!!
And for the latest 2.7 version, you can specify the location, but in my K790, that doesn't work! So please help and yes it all says to have
STANDBY_IDLE_EVENT
STANDBY_NOT_IDLE_EVENT
in the dyn_const.bin file.
How to do that?
...Thanks in advance all.

Create usb/other/SAMM. Place all menu folders there and SAMM.ini.
Use DYNeditor.exe to check your constants in your dyn. Its in russian unfortunately as no english version exists but is easy enough to figure out.

Sorry for all the trouble, I ultimately hv found out that my dyn_const has all the required '**_EVENT's but still it does not solve the problem. I have all the files in the right path and all correctly configured in the bcfg. So whare could be the problem.
I have heard that you need to have installed two patches to have the latest version working:
i) Softkey_Hook
ii) Additional Links
I have all of them installed. But then where could have been the problem. So for the solution I was requesting a complete guide to it. Can anyone of you, who has it working, post a complete installation guide to it.
Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

All I have done is placed SAMM 2.7d into /usb/other/zbin, install the two required patches (Softkey hook and Additional Shortcuts v2.5) and edited the bcfg as follows...
Investing joystick = No
Start button = Joystick (short press)
Path settings...
Skins path = /card/other/zbin/config
SkinEditor path = /usb/other/zbin
BcfgEdit path = /usb/other/zbin
I'd like you to tell me exactly why it doesn't work for you. Does it reboot/does nothing etc.

Yes it reboots everytime I press the joystick.
I have both the patches installed and all paths correctly configured.
do you have the skins in a 'SAMM' folder?
I have a folder named SAMM in Config and inside it, I have all skins in a separe folder each and also I have a skins.skn file. Please help! I really need this. |

This is correct.
In menu-settings-general-shortcuts have you set joystick to menu? And are you sure your lib and dyn are up to date? You can try my dyn_const here

I believe I have the same DYN as the author of this elf have. Chech it out here--> http://www.se-developers.net/[....]advanced-mainmenu-t-234-7.html
If possible also upload the latest lib and other patches that are required for correct working of this elf. |

Can you tell me what icon you have while selecting elfs. The differrent icons show the various versions of the elf lib development. If you have the 'Cock' icon, it means you have lib v1 and the 'mouse' icon represents lib v1.01!

It has nothing to do with the lib. Its the elf loader. I use Tartes mod v1.91 rev41 and replaced the icon with one of my own.

I take it you are using Elfpack v1? Tartes mod is has many more features included...
Ability to load lib from a bin file meaning easy updating.
Filereg elf is incorporated into elfpack.
Ability to have individual icons for elves.
Elfpack can be disabled with patch on startup.
Elfpack can then be enabled with EPManager elf.

So what elves do u need 4 it to work properly/ I remember installing it once and a new item came up on the startup menu, i.e. No Elfs. But if I choose it, my phone would restart with a white screen! |

The add no elf to startup patch can only be used with Tartes elfpack. You weren't, thats why the reboot. All you need to do is remove elfpack v1 and apply Tartes mod and thats it. You can add that 'no elfs' patch if you want to disable it.
