Tutorial: How to patch your A2 Phone |

This short guide will enable you to patch your A2 CID52 (DB3150 and DB3210) phone for free. Currantly there are two ways to do this at the moment:
1. With Latest A2Uploader by the_laser.
2. the cxchash method by den_po. This method is made easier with codeclaw cxcpatcher and is also quicker than this method explained here.
Both these methods require your phone to have a BROWN or "Developer" certificate. This can be done for free like this...
Use Aerix to go from RED to BLUE then
Use D-Ultimate Unlockerto go from BLUE to BROWN!
Patching a RED phone can't be done for free atm as the semcboot needs to be patched. If you happen to have a RED CID53 phone (W995 for eg) then there is no free way to change to BROWN. 2 logs from D-Ultimate Unlocker will do this (about 15 Euros). If you already have a BROWN phone then you're lucky, things will be easier and go straight to step 9.
NOTE: A2Uploader will display "BROWN" if you have a BLUE (Factory) phone!
Ok, you will need...
D-Ultimate Unlocker (No account needed)
Aerix (You will need an account here)
A2Uploader
...and obviously some patches for your phone and firmware.
1. Its advisable to make a backup of your "/boot" folder, just in case!
2. Start Aerix and press "Unlock".
3. Turn off our phone, reinsert battery and connect holding 2+5 keys.
4. Wait a while...
5. Now this is imporant: When you see "Restarting phone" HIT "ABORT"!!!!
At this point you'll see a lot of errors. Don't worry. Hopefully your phone is now BLUE.
6. Open D-Ultimate Unlocker.
7. Choose to change certificate to "Brown" and make sure "REPAIR EROM/SEMCBOOT" is checked otherwise phone will not start afterwards!!!
8. Connect phone.
9. Once finished, open A2Uploader, place *.vkp file in the 'misc' box and apply patches with the "Write script" option making sure the patches have this line in them...
;pAtChFiLe=/boot/phone_app.cxc
Example...
;C905 SW-R1FA035
;Change "Sony Ericsson ROCKS!" to "Nokia SuCKs!"
;Usage: (ServiceMenu-->ModelInfo--> 2,4,6,8)
;® D-Man
;(p) blacklizard
;pAtChFiLe=/boot/phone_app.cxc
15D851C9:536F6E79204572696373736F6E0A524F 4E6F6B69610A5375434B732100000000
15D851D9:434B5321 00000001
10. Connect your phone while holding 'C' and wait. A2Uploader takes a long time even with small patches.
11. When you see the popup, click 'No' to write the patch. If you want to remove it later then click 'Yes' at this point.
12. When you see "ELAPSED: xx secs." the process is finished and you can unplug your phone.
13. Hopefully, if all goes well you should have a patched phone!
If you want to have your RED certificate back then use Aerix again to unlock but this time let the process finish.
******* UPDATE *******
There is a more indepth tutorial by kaosblade which includes den_po's FAR cxc patcher here...

You cannot use D-Ultimate to change from RED to BROWN without logs.

Boysie, thanks for the tutorial. Can you backed it with pictures ?
One more thing. May be my question sound stupid but consider it as it is a newbie question. I have never done patching and i am new to this world. Till now, i saw many patches here and at se-nse, they all like a bunch of few programme language lines. You said in tutorial on point 9 that put *.vkp in .... What is *.vkp ? From where we get this *.vkp? Also you said to put that one line in patch. Where? At the start of the all programming lines?
Sorry, if my questions are annoying to you.

The programme language lines as you said, must be copied to a blank text file and save with the extension .vkp. Let's say you want to use this patch:
;W910 SW-R1FA035
;Work the radio in "Flight Mode"
;© CyberMaster
;(p) Photographer
113057AF: D0 E0
113025DA: 002811D1 C046C046
Copy the above, open Notepad and then then paste it there. Now save the file as WorkTheRadioInFlightMode.vkp |

Thanks stevenC.
What about the line "patchfile=/boot/...... " where to put it ? At start of the all programming lines?

I'm not sure as I haven't tried myself but I think it can be put anywhere above or below the comments (lines starting with a semi column).

Today, when i connect the phone to aerix by pressing 2 & 5, it almost took 5 min but it didnt move from the first line i.e. Instruction please connect your phone via Usb pressing 2, 5.
My net connection was also fine and speedy. What went wrong ? I did register before using setting.
