It's a nice little promotion this, glad they keep bringing it back - one of the few perks we get from Apple in Europe (they don't do this in the states apparently)..

hmm my iPhone is a US one and its just had that app
Apple have emailed me it and now it's been downloaded onto iTunes
so all I have to is sync to phone!
the IMEI on it is unreconised in the UK
but the phone is working on itunes on my account lol
