Sony Xperia S announced
Sony Xperia S seems to be a smaller version of the Sony Xperia Ion without the LTE high speed connectivity. And for those not tied up with AT&T in the US, Sony offers the same content package in a smaller package. Where the Xperia Ion has a huge 4.6 inch display, the Xperia S has a smaller 4.3 inch display but with the same 720x1280 HD resolution. A 1.5 GHz dual core processor should be enough for everyone for the next few years

Sony has increased the camera megapixels from 8 to 12. Very few smartphones can offer such a high number of megapixel count. Out my head, I can only think of Samsung Pixon 12, Sony Ericsson Satio and of course the legendary Nokia N8. All these produced excellent image quality, and we can just hope the 12 megapixels sensor in the Sony Xperia S will do the same.

Sony Xperia S highlights

  • Size: 128 x 64 x 10.6 mm
  • Weight: 144 gram
  • 4.3 inch Reality display, 720 x 1280 pixel resolution, Mobile Bravia Engine

FINALLY! THE PERFECT XPERIA PHONE!

This has everything I wanted in a phone.

Though other Sony Ericsson Xperia phone are cool, it's always leave you wanting more features avaible in other Xperia models.

THE "XPERIA S", what a beauty!

It looks great as usual and the UI is stunning! however i find the sony logo too big I'll miss the digital-sans font on

I missed Xenon flash so much, if this had it, it'll compete for the cameraphone ultimacy

So which of the following disadvantages are present and which are not:

1. Not-Swappable battery
2. No MicroSD
3. microSIM?
The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand...

Will it support the mkv-container with hw-accel? If not it's as bad as the Arc... decode x264 in software is not fast.
everything else looks stunning thou

Is it confirmed as being quad-band HSDPA?

It's a pain having 2 different models on the market in Australia.
