If you are a Mac user, perhaps this is something for you. A software from SE that allows you to sync your Xperia smartphone with your Mac. Soon it will support update of the phone software as well.

I'm using the new Bridge for Mac software and I'm really happy there is finally a solution.
As you know this is the first version of the Application. How would you improve it?
For me wireless sync would be more than helpful. |

That's a significant development. Maybe more Mac users will jump the fence now that data transfer isn't a problem.

I have noticed that the latest version automatically backs up my phone. This is really a problem if you're on a MBA with 64GB. I haven't figured out a way to turn off yet. |

(profanity check) WOW!!!
Where was this software last December when I had the Arc?! With this software I'm SERIOUSLY considering Ion/Xperia S (since BOTH are now finally available by my carrier).
Angelo,
is there an option in Preferences for this application (via its own menu> preferences; not system preferences), or in system preferences or in iTunes itself?

Hardened, hehehehe this has been out for quite some time, during days, it's used to be called Sony Ericsson Bridge. They only recently updated it to be Sony Mobile Bridge. But it's the same software, new logo.
For iTunes Syncing, it's not quite perfect.
Playlists are synced directly from Bridge itself, you can view your iTunes playlists and songs.
The issue I have is when you use Smart Playlists like I do that constantly change, it will add the songs that are new, but it will not remove the songs that are no longer in the playlist, and you'll have to manually delete them from the SD card (if you can remember which songs are no longer in the updated playlist)
But if you're using a static playlist, no problems.
Angello, what phone are you using with it? On GB and ICS, backup is no longer working since backups are now handled completely by Google.

@Hardened
Nope, not that I know. You should check it out yourself: Download Bridge for Mac
@jplacson
I'm using it with my XS on ICS. What I forgot to say is that it doesn't back up the entire phone with all data and settings. It's seems that it imports/backs up my media data e.g. photos, videos etc. Since I have lots of photos and videos on my phone this is quite annoying. I found out by using a programm called WhatSize for my Mac. It tells you how much memory is used and also shows you where the big files are on your computer. Bridge for Mac had a folder with 6GB. Which is too much IMO. |
