It says in the whitepaper on page 3 that , and I quote "Magic Gate, the copyright protection mechanism available with Memory Stick, is not supported on the P800."

Now, I'm not sure if this means that the cards cannot be used or if it's only the copyright protection shit that doesn't work.

Does anybody know anything about this?
This is important to me because www.komplett.no sells the magicgate version in 128MB and the regular in only 64.

it works with p800,im using a 64mb one right now, pics, data, vdeo, music etc.though if u have the option to buy the 128mb one then do,my 64mb has now only couple of space left.

From what I know, the Magic Gate Duos work fine with the P800. You do lose the MagicGate feature... for those who don't think this is useful... given the limited space on the P800... MagicGate would've allowed us to use Sony's ATRAC3 compression (higher audio quality, lower space requirements) which is better than MP3.

It's not a BIG deal, but it would've allowed us to cram more music/videos into the same space, at the same time, having higher quality audio/video.

I think I'll wait for the regular 64/128 Duos. I don't want to pay extra for features I can't use.

There's nothing wrong with SansDisk products. If they make Duos that are 30% cheaper than Sony's...I'll gladly buy Sansdisk!
