Happy new year.
I really like reflections in photos. It doesn't have to be on water. Any surface or material is ok as long as it represents some sort of reflection. I think it is a good theme to be creative.
Here are some photos from members:
RULES:
- Pictures must be taken with a mobile phone by that member.
- Only 1 photo with allowance for only 1 change.
- No archive photos & photos must be taken in January 2016.
- Post full size photo here http://www.esato.com/phonephotos/ & post a link to that photo.
- Post processing is allowed, but nothing extreme like adding/removing objects or altering the composition in any way.

I see the rules for this month don't reflect the allowance of post processing.... did we decide against that? I think it's time we let this competition evolve and maybe attract more folks to enter/compete..... It's a new Year, lets get some new rules and maybe breath some life back into the competition.

I'm always in for suggestions.
Only saturation and white balance?
I see no problem in simple things like that.

I am not against processing unless there is adding or removing objects. Composition is the important thing for me. You decide how much processing is allowed and I'll add it to the rules. |

.... My thoughts were just "in phone" processing for color, tint sharpness, HDR, focus stacking etc.... things which could enhance an image but not alter its composition. I agree with no adding/removing objects and would even maybe disallow cropping as to keep the original composition as much as possible.

I agree...some post processing should be allowed. But not too much that the photo doesn't look 'natural' or realistic.
Composition is the key - any post processing should not deviate from the overall composition of the shot. Most phones nowadays can adjust brightness, cropping, saturation, sharpness, hue, contrast,... some even have HDR and speed adjustments. I think that as long we stick to those SAME editing features as phones do... we should be okay, right?
cheers!
