Will we ever see a T610 without the camera? |

Frankly the camera sux, so I'd rather be without it. Or are all the latest phones cursed with a sucky camera? |

Well, since you don't like it, just don't use it!
I find it very useful, specially when I need to show something to anyone at work when I'm far away from there.

I didn't really want a camera on my phone either, but the T610 has everything else I want so I bought it and simply don't use the camera. Why can't you do this? It doesn't hurt to have it there even if you aren't using it. |

The trend at the moment seems to be camera phones and I doubt that will change for quite a while as it makes more money for the networks as people get tempted to use MMS or to send pics via email.
I guess its down to expectations too. If you are expecting 2 or 3 mega pixel quality then of course you will be dissapointed. If you are expecting to take quick snaps, say at a party or to add a photo to a contact etc then it is more than adequate.
Personally I think the T610 cam performs perfectly well for its purpose.

yup, don't see why you can't ignore it even if it's there. |

fair enuff you can ignore it, but the weight it adds.
the t610 would have lighter, now that is better than a shite camera.

well, of course the camera sucks. See it for what it is. Something like a bad xerox copy. One thin very useful is that the T610 takes photos of text from close up. Text from books, posters, computer monitor etc that you want to remember. That is really useful. |

I doubt the cam adds much weight. Probably cheaper to throw it in even for those who don't want it, rather than have to produce a different model identical, sans cam. Same could be said for bluetooth or other features not used by everyone. Personally I never use the cam attachment but might use it if it were on the phone, at least in a pinch. I think it has as yet untapped potential.

I can assure you that if you had two T610's, one with and one without the camera, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the two as far as the weight in concerned. The camera is literally just a tiny chip with a plastic lens in front of it. |

I don't understand that guys who are telling us all the time that "Camera sucks"!? Do they know what is camera, what is digital camera? I don't think so. In years that are coming incorporated
cameras in mobile phones, will be better and better. But even today,
camera in T610 is interesting and valuable product. I like it, because
I can take a photo of some person and put it in phonebook. And
quality of that photo is good enough for that purpose. When I want
something more than that, I take my digital camera or my 35mm SLR
camera. Please stop with that criticism and grumbling like old virgin. |

Nobody is expecting a 5 megapixel camera, just one which is comparable to the competition. Take the gd87 for example, vastly superior quality . . . with zoom functionality! Still, at least it has a camera . . .

Why are you expecting the best camera on T610? I don't get it.
T610 is very good phone. I like it because of all the features it has,
because of good GPRS, bluetooth, synch with PC etc etc. If camera
is so important for you, OK buy that GD87 or whatever. I don't
think that we must have a phone with all the best features on it.
I don't think that T610 needs to have camera like GD87, and I don't
think that GD87 needs to have bluetooth, synch with PC like T610 etc.
Some day when I buy Ferrari I will not expect the best comfort in it.

For the record I have got a gd87 amongst others, and no I don't expect the T610 to have the *best* camera, just one that is better than the current one. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with my T610 but the camera is the weak link in an otherwise perfect package.
