I am supposed to write about the mobile phone's history in school. When I started I thought that, this will be no problem for me, none at all. Then when I started to think about it I realised that I know very much about mobile phones today, but I really don't have a clue about how or when it started. I tried searching google but didn't come up with anything (reliable). So I thought, what is better then just ask here?
So, if anybody would care to explain it to me or even better, give me a link to some reliable source where it is all explained, I'd be really gratefull. Thank you.

Thanks, but I knew that too. What I'm looking for is more like dates, times and people, and mainly why did they cahnge networks? And so on (I'm in sweden so thats what I'm interested in, I guess it's much like england and most of euroupe but not america, japan and so on).

btw... you don't live nearby Stockholm do you? then I can recommend a visit to Telemuseum... This might be the last chance to see our histoy of telecommunications since the museum will close in January since both Ericsson and TeliaSonera has cut down on the contributions...
