T630 MP3 Ringtone limitation made on purpose? |

With T630 there is software to create MMS with music and pics. You can tranfer a midi-file, listen to it in the phone and use it as a ring signal. You can also cut a piece of an mp3 file, transfer it and listen to it (and it sounds good) but for some reason you CANNOT use this one as a ring tone.
Am I wrong? If not I guess this is a limitation made on purpose. Anyone who knows better? |

Not to be rude, but we already know that MP3's can't be used as ringtones. Sorry man!

T630 does not support playback of mp3
mms home studio converts the mp3 you add to the mms into AMR
So you are not really adding an mp3 file. |

Wow, I've been searching so long for phones that use .mp3 files as ringtones.
So... what was that about mms not being free anymore? I would like to buy a T630 and customise it... does that mean I pay extra if I use the feature? |

Okay, so let me understand this fully. If i get a software that can convert wav to amr. I can use this amr file as a ringtone on a T630.
Thanks. |

The only phones (at this time) that support mp3 as ringtones are Motorola phones. The V300 / V400 / V600 etc. |

No you cant use amr files for ringtones. Even the t68 supports mp3 to amr. You just cant select the file in the ringtones setting menu. You can however select an amr file in my sounds and when composing mms. Pity.
