yes - you can use mp3 for ringtone unless you get a vodaphone branded K700

Are we to assume you've fallen into the Voda trap?
It can't be reflashed just yet so you're stuck with it for now.
Unless.....
I hope it took u less than 14days to realise the MP3 feature was missing & so u can return the phone for a refund & go get it on O2

certainly you can return the phone because of the missing mp3 ringtone feature - removing any original feature from what is listed as specs on sonyericsson.com make it a completely different phone - so unless your contract specifically state that you agree to buying a phone with this and that disabled you are in good faith that it not only looks like a K700 but actually is a K700 you paid for.
You are fully in your right to return the phone stating this is not what you bought - even after the 14 day return period.
If I buy a new car - and only discover after 14 days that parts of the engine is missing - Im surely eligable to return it.
The Vodaphone hickup this time with disabling mp3 for ringtones because they want to force people to buy mp3 ringtones from them - is one of the ugliest commercial frauds Ive ever witnessed within the mobilebusiness. Changing menuicons or background wallpaper etc. is one thing but directly removing an important major feature of the handset, and still advertising and selling them as normal K700's makes me sick.
To me this resembles simple fraud - and fraud do not have 14 days limit.
