Is the photo quality comparable with the K700i? Or is it much better? I understand they are both 1.3 mega pixels, right? |

Pictures must be the same as they are 1.3 megapixel.
These pictures do look good in full screen mode. |

no, the S700 has a true 1.3 megapixel camera whereas the K700 has a 0.3 megapixel camera (VGA) but has software in it that can interpoloate the picture up to 1.2 megapixels.
so you can expect much better quality from the S700 than the K700

of what i know the s700 has a 1.3mp cam while the k700 supports a 640x480 cam with extended mode making it larger...though not a mp cam.. im just dying for an s700
@peter - too bad for me, no s700 in dubai yet, somehow they're late

Wrong. I think the quality is much better in S700 which uses a CCD sensor, where K700 uses a CIF camera sensor.
Besides, K700 is only VGA , having VGA = 640x480, means K700 has a 0.3 MP Camera, whilst S700 has 1.3 MP (1280 x 960).
@PeterKey
What kinda meal is that!?!?!??!

Well, the size of the pictures is much depending on what you are taking a picture (meaning the complexity of the picture in terms of colors).
If you take a 1280x960 pic at a blue sky the size will be much smaller than the size of a picture with the same resulotion of a garden full of flowers.

hmmm, must be a tighter jpeg compression than my old olympus 1.3 megapixel camera had about 4 or 5 years ago. not bad.

Compression is quite good for the quality of picture.
I must admit i am impressed with the quality of the S700i camera. Must be cos i have been using the P900 for almost a year. |

I have been quite impressed with the quality of pictures taken with the S700 compared with those taken by my K700; I'm not a terribly good photographer I'm afraid, but I had a jolly good bash at it anyway. I'll hopefully take some outdoor picture slater today and post them.
