I'm a longtime Nokia user (blasphemy?) from the old 3210 to my current phone which is the 6310i. But since I saw the T68, I've been itching to have one.. almost to the point of obssession. I just want to know if the transition from Nokia to Ericsson would be hard, I've had an R380 b4 and it sucked. Would the T68 be a great buy? What I've been offered is a brand new T68 Gold which has been upgraded to T68i (is that ok?) Any help would be appreciated. Thank you and good day!

I have a gold t68m with the i software, my only regret is that i didnt buy it sooner.... Honestly, he you are not happy with it you can always sell, they hold their price, not suprisingly you will find most t68 owners were nokia users. My first step away from nokia was the fantastic siemens sl45i... Both phones are miles better than nokia offerings... And he you are thinking what about the 7650? Well you need a cd player case to carry it. My only grievance is that the t68i cam is expensive...

nookiehunter,

the menus of the t68 and t68i are definitely more "nokia-like" than previous ericsson phones. it should not take you long at all to adjust. the only thing that might take some for you would be texting. compared to a nokia, the response time of an ericsson phone for text inputs can be painfully slow. this can be frustrating for someone who sends a lot of text. this one complaint aside, the t68 is really a very very good phone.

You wont regret it! So much better, the SE interface will take a little getting used to but only a little and all the features you will have on your T68 will be well worth it! I've had Nokias in the past but the T68 wins for me hands down! Ed

I myself would like to get a T68 too, but I don't think I'm ready to give up my T39m yet.

i've been a nokia user for ages, firstly i started off with the Ericsson ph337, Ericsson ph768, then to nokia 6150, 3210, 3310, 3330, 8210, 8850 then my last nokia was the 8310. NOW I have the Ericsson t68i and i love it, it was worth the wait....

i belive nokia is old of date......... they need to catch up with SE.

Changing from a nokia, the features i miss on the nokia have to be the sms predictive text. Nokia is still the best in this i have to say and the text message alert tone..... you can hardly hear it on the T68 and the T9 is also not very good, unless for have the RE software.

The colour screen on the T68 is also a bit of a disapointment only being 256 colour. At the moment i belive the nokia 7650 has a advantage here, but the size on the 7650 is very disapointing.

Overall i am happy with my t68i and i wouldn't even consider going for a Nokia, unless i get the 8910 cheep , then i'll keep both, but i will upgrade my phone to the SE P800, thats going to be the mother of all phones.....

In upgrading fm a nokia 2 an ericson :-] most peopl i knw hav 2 adjust to the key asignments & the menu esp. whn texting. Personaly i find the SE menu more intuitive compared 2 noks.

I've been t68 user for 4 months now. I think t68 is too slow and I dislike the plasticy keyboard it has. Especially Yes and No buttons are bad in t68. I tend to use my Nokia 3210 more, because it's simply a lot more usable as a phone. 3210's keyboard is so nice and the phone is really fast, compared to t68. Good points in t68 is long standby and talk time, size, weight, 3-band and bluetooth. The color screen is pretty bad, some greens look more like brown and some shades simply don't exist at all. If I could redecide, I'd buy for example 6310 instead now.

Well, I was a Nokia-only phone user for years, had always been happy with them, the day my 8850 had the defective lcd screen issue the phone was first exchanged under warranty, which made me the happiest nokia-owner ever! But one year after that the problem happened again and they were asking me like 120 euros to fix it! Come on! The phone was out for more than 2 years and they didn't even manage to fix the problem and they're charging they fellow customer for it! From that day on I'm don't want to deal with that sort of people, it's a lack of professionalism and marketing we can't accept from these big companies!

I have my T68 (now upgraded to T68i soft), and that's definitely the best phone I have ever had! The calendar thing is great, the phone acts like a real PDA, offers you direct email access, you can actually carry your entire desktop with you which is really all I need!

As a previous nokia user, the only flaw I can report and that still bothers me (but it gets better and better after every soft update...) is the sms and T9 typing, speed and general handling.

And it's all about simple things that makes it great, like the ability to browse through your phonebook or you calendar while your speaking on the phone with someone, or being able to record the conversation if you don't have a pen to write down all the info the caller gives you (and not just 10 sec of it, for like 10 minutes if you want to!), the voice control through the bluetooth which allows you to be actually handsfree, the phone autonomy which is really excellent even compared to other regular phones (I mean b/w screens...).
And last but not least, just put the phone right next to 8310, a SL45 or whatever phone (even a 89x0) it simply beautiful, bright and colorful. The menus are clear and simple!

I bought it because it was the best looking phone at the time, but i definetely didn't it was really all I could ever except from a mobile device!

Just buy it, it's great!

Do u think the price of the T68i will drop at the end of this year when the P800 and T300 are launched ? Maybe we T68i wannabe' buyers 'ought to wait just a month or two ?

T68 is definitely a very good phone and has been acclaimed as such widely. It's about 1 year old though, and some tough competitors are coming quickly, but it's the most feature-packed small-sized phone on the market today. Though, I would expect SE to replace its T68i in a few months time. Buying it now full-price might not be the wisest investment

Now, it depends on what you really need.... The choice is yours.

The T300 will be the entry-level color mobile for SE so it
will not influence the price of the T68i all that much IMHO

I have by the way had my grey T68 since october, and despite some bad luck when it comes to hardware (I have had two devices going dead, as in BRICK-dead, ex-t68, gone to the great manufactoring line in the sky! I have to use my own 6150 right now while waiting for a replacement phone )

Despite these problems I would buy the T68 again today, it is just uncomparable to the other devices. The functionality, features, design and ergonomics is simply so much better!

I don't believe it, Super G actually likes the T68! I thought you only had eyes for Nokia

Just kidding, I know Super G is at least a little bit objective, and there are plenty of rabid sony ericsson fans in this forum.

I would have to say it all depends on the price you are paying for the T68, they are about 9 months old now and a lot of contracts will give you a free T68 for a 12 month contract in the UK. So I wouldn't pay too much for it, but it is a great phone.
