K750i - Standby Crash |
benjam Joined: Aug 20, 2002 Posts: 98 From: UK PM |
OK I dont want to panic anyone but twice now I have left my new K750i on and have gone back to use it after a while and the phone remains frozen with the clock and black screen. I try to press buttons and theres no response, I call it and it goes to answer phone. I had to twice remove the battery and restart the phone.
Has anyone had a similar problem with the K700?
What could cause this? |

maybe early firmware bugs, or maybe just a one off thing...
try doing a master reset if it does it again.

cheers batsie, so it wouldnt be a major problem with the phone then?
I left it near my wireless broadband netgear card, could the signals be messing with the phone maybe....? |

I've been using mine solidly for 2 days now, visiting every menu item and trying every feature and was quite pleased at how stable and quick it was.
Indeed the only problem I have found is that when closing the camera cover, depending on where you push it, it sometimes seems to get raised at the end that meets the other silvery part and if you didn't realise and then grab the phone you can feel it click back into its correct place
I certainly have not had a single crash so far

well it is a major problem if it keeps happening, especially after a master reset. if it carrys on contact your local service centre or take it back for a replacement/refund

A lot of people on other forums have been complaining about different crashes too. There seems to be some early software bugs. No surprise though I dont think I have ever bought a SE phone when it was first released without software bugs. |

I had the identical problem descibed in the initial post, if you turn the phone on, and leave it for a while without touching it, the screen was in the black with the cloack, and it was frozen, the only way to sort it was the manually remove the battery, even the power button would not respond.
I returned it and got a new one, it seems perfect. Guy in shop said 50 % of the K750 they sold on Sat had been exchanged on the Sunday for the same reason, he was getting worried!!

Yes, the camera has a shutter sound. On some K750 it can be turned off on others not (pretty much same thing as K700, S700 etc.). |

yep, mine lasted just 2 days, then earlier this evening i got a text message, but i can't read it as the phone is locked up solid !! The buttons do nothing, all i have is the black screen with the time on it when it crashed and an envolope to say i have a message.
I wish they test these phones properly before releasing it to the public ?
Oh well back to the shop we go |

I have had the occasional (3) crashes when rotating a photo. It just freezes up and I need to take out the battery.
