O2 K750i and Bluetrek G2 a (sort of) solution |

You will no doubt be aware of the problems when connecting these 2 items. I have a Wk22 model on f/w R1a044 and seem to have a workaround to this. It is not brilliant as some of the handsfree profile functions do not work BUT you can answer incoming, redial last outgoing and end calls from the thing. So sit back, relax and read on...
Firstly you need to remove all traces of the G2 from your handset, so into the BT menu>My Devices and select, then down to Bluetrek G2 <select> and press <c> to confirm you do want to delete it, now while we're in that menu go down to <Power Save> and select it to 'off'. Then into the <Handsfree> option down to <incoming call> and select 'in handsfree'. Then the last thing in that menu is to select <Visibility> to 'off'.
Next go into <Profiles> and check and edit each and every one of them...Here's how...firstly select the profile, then edit the profile and if in the accessories list at the end of the profile is an entry called 'accessory 1 1 0' highlight it and press <c> to remove it.
Finally in the <settings> - <calls> - <handsfree> menu check that 'answering mode' is 'normal' , 'handsfree type' is 'automatic' and in 'Bluetooth' - 'My Handsfree' option that no mention of Bluetrek G2 is there, if it is highlight it and press <c> to confirm deletion.
Now back to the <settings> , <connectivity> , <Bluetooth> menu and we'll start again from scratch.
Firstly here DO NOT select <handsfree> and say 'yes' to adding a device, you need to go into <My Devices> and choose <add> (NOT YET!!) just get to this point put the phone down and pick up you headset.
Ensure the headset is off and we will put it into a 'forced headset' pairing mode. to do this press and hold the volume - button for around fifteen seconds until the LED's flash blue/red then LET GO, if you dont let go you will put the headset into storage mode and thats another post.
With the headset flashing like MJ at a funfair hit the <add> button on your phone and wait for it to be recognised, select it and enter the passcode '0000'.
Once paired switch everything off and restart the phone (but not with BT on). Turn on your headset (if it beeps frantically while searching ignore it until it stops) then enable the BT on the phone, they will ignore each other for the time being. Enable BT on the phone and they should connect, after a minute or so the headset disconnects from the mobile (Don't worry), the BT icon remains present.
When you next receive a call the headset will ring and you can answer as normal, with pure monophonic sound ringing in your ear!
When the call has ended the headset disconnects again but ignore it until you get another call and will be fine.
This works for me but you cannot voice dial while in this set up. Although if you press the BT button for 2 secs it will call the last number dialled.
Many hours of playing have brought this about so I hope this helps you all out and if there any Q'a just ask.
Cheers from Sooteee

Sootee,
i can't tell you how frustrating the 750 has been for me, purely because of the G2 headset incompatibility.
I read your post with apprehension, as i had tried all manner of tricks and games to get them to work.
However, i followed it to the letter, and it works!
A very sincere thankyou for your obvious persistence and for taking the time to spell it out for us all! |
