Rumor: Sony Ericsson Nozomi specifications
7 September 2011 by Olav Hellesø-Knutsen More rumored specifications of the unannounced Sony Ericsson Nozomi dual core 1.5 GHz flagship model
The Sony Ericsson Nozomi is rumored to the be next Sony Ericsson flagship model to be on sale in Mach next year. The Chinese web site it168 has thrown out some more juicy details about the Sony Ericsson Nozomi. We already know about the 1.5 GHz dual core processor inside and the the 4.3 inch 720p display. 720p = 1280 x 720 pixels! The latest addition of high-end specifications are that the Nozomi will have 1 GB on-board memory and 32 GB storage. But our favourite rumor is the 12 megapixel CMOS Exmor R sensor. The thing is that we haven't been able to find any information about a 12 megapixel sensor. Sony Ericsson are using Sony sensors in mobile phones and as far as we know Sony has not announced any 12 megapixel sensor yet. The latest Exmor R sensors from the Japanese company are 8, 13 and 16 megapixels. The Nozomi might have the 13 MP module with 13.25 effective pixels. This sensor has 1.12 µm unit pixel which are the industry's smallest. The sensor will provide full HD video at 60 or 30 frames per second. The Sony Ericsson Nozomi will be running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and it will be announced in January if everything goes according to plan. The shipment date is set to March 2012. laffen13 years, 1 month ago You are of course correct. I've edited the article. NightBlade13 years, 1 month ago Anyways, I hope, as always, that this has a xenon flash. Please, let it have a xenon flash!
admad13 years, 1 month ago If this will have xenon flash, it will beat the competition (which in 2012 will have quad-cores). Otherwise, it will be just as we are used to, SE being one year too late. The camera will have to be special to beat the N8's. I'm honestly not holding any thumbs for this to be better in the camera department judging by SE's recent record in picture quality. I'd love to be proved wrong though. NightBlade13 years, 1 month ago I'm happy as long as the picture quality is as even as good as the Satio's - which is still better than that of most phones on the market. The fact that it has Android beats the N8 hands down.

I think the word Nozomi connects to this meaning - 1) wish, desire, hope, (2) prospect, expectation, (one's) hopes, and the Japanese letters are - 望み 【のぞみ】 の no ぞ zo み mi It is also the name of a Shinkansen Bullet Train. Nozomi does have another meaning - 臨み 【のぞみ】(n) challenge, confrontation but I think Wish, Desire and Hope are perhaps what Sony Ericsson were thinking. I am sure someone here at Esato will know different! I'd love to be proved wrong though. for that "Nozomi" should have these features 1. mechnical shutter that can burst mode up to 10fps at full resolution 2. Utilize the 10fps advantage to use the "handheld twilight" which merges photos of different ISO/exposure into one clean, less noise, better exposed image and even the N8 can't win against it in twilight photography @ofiaich: I hope we can all say "watashitachi no nozomi wa kanatta nda" just like how banagher's father in the anime gundam unicorn said after his son accepted the unit [ This Message was edited by: razec on 2011-09-14 09:24 ] jj0313 years, 1 month ago battery ? anything less than 1800mah will be disaster...be lucky to get a day out of it. max_wedge13 years, 1 month ago I'm just hoping for a Satio replacement. An android cybershot phone with active lens cover and xenon flash. Come on SE!
Bonovox13 years, 1 month ago Lets hope but I cannot see that with phones getting thinner
etaab13 years, 1 month ago This is one im looking forward to, but i just wish they'd release it before Christmas as said above, by the time it probably does come out Samsung will be releasing quad core phones. Galaxy S III ?
Bonovox13 years, 1 month ago I would love it one day if does what Sony does in their dedicated digital cameras like the Sony HX9v. they use AVCHD format which although heavily compressed it's the best quality I have ever seen. I have one & the video recording is something amazing.
max_wedge13 years, 1 month ago true but codec support is still lacking. FOr example VLC, which plays everything, including AVCHD, plays AVCHD with some serious solarisation banding. Or maybe that's just the Panasonic compact I have that uses it, but bottom line I have to convert it if I wanna upload to youtube - youtube can't. So I don't bother. Reason looking forward to the neo so I can just upload stuff and not dick around.
