Sony Ericsson announces two new Greenheart models
14 December 2009 by Olav Hellesø-Knutsen The Elm and Hazel are two new models in the eco friendly Sony Ericsson model range called Greenheart The two new models are following Naite and C901 which are the current available eco friendly models from Sony Ericssons. Sony Ericsson have ambition to making all its accessories 100% GreenHeart compliant by 2011. We have written a review of the Naite (sorry, it is currently only Google translate to English from Norwegian) and found that the eco friendly phones could very well be a strong marketing point in the future. GreenHeart collective term for products having e-manual, reduced packaging, using recycled plastic, using waterborne paint and a low power consuming charger. The new Elm and Hazel are expanding the GreenHeart product range. The two phones are having almost the same specifications. Hazel is a slider model while Elm has a bar/classic form factor. Both models are splash resistant against water. The few things differentiate the two are: size, weight and display. Elm and Hazel share most features. Hoping for more touchscreen with improved UI from SE house. And do they have Accelerometers? Elm looks boring old nothing new. Guess feature are not environmentally friendly to be included. Personally I hike a lot and would appreciate (in addition to the splash resistance) shock resistance, solar chargers, GPS, Compass and Altimeter to make me wanna take it to my next outing.
