Toshiba announces tablets in all size. Excite 7, Excite 10 and Excite 13
10 April 2012 by Olav Hellesø-Knutsen Toshiba wants to sell tablet of all size and today the company announced no less than three new Android tablets. The three tablets announce today are called Excite 7, Excite 10 and Excite 13 Toshiba today announced three new tablets with display sizes from 7.7 inches to 13.3 inches. You might have seen and tested tablets with 7.7 and 10.1 inches size before, but the 13.3 inch size is something out of the ordinary. All tablets announced today share these features:
The Toshiba Excite 13 Tablet has a 13.3 inches HD display with a 1600 x 900 pixel resolution. The aspect ratio is not the normal 16:10 or 4:3 but Toshiba has gone for 16:9 ratio which is good for watching movies. It is 10.1 mm thin and weighs 998 gram which is quite heavy for a tablet without an attachable keyboard. With such a large size, it is room for extra features such as the four-speaker sound system. 1 GB RAM is backed up with either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of storage. Storage can be expanded using a normal SD card. Connectivity should not be a problem either. Excite 13 has micro USB and micro HDM ports. Battery life is claimed to be 13 hours of standby time and seven days standby time. Toshiba Excite 10 is a more normal sized tablet with a 10.1 inches display size. The AutoBrite LED display has a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. We are now back to the normal tablet weight territory as the Excite 10 weighs 599 grams. The Excite 10 thickness is 8.9 mm. Excite 10 will be available with either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB storage. Like the other two tablets, Excite 10 has a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor with GeForce graphics. The Tegra 3 4-PLUS-1 processor has four main cores doing heavy tasks and a lower clocked fifth core running when the tablet is idle. This fifth core requires less power and therefore improves battery performance. Excite 10 can run for 10 hours without charging, or be set in standby for seven days. Like the bigger Excite 13, is has connectivity ports such as Micro USB and Micro HDMI. The 16, 32 or 64 GB storage can be expanded using a full-sized SD memory card. Toshiba Excite 7 is the smallest of the three with a screen size of 7.7 inches. It has a AMOLED display with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. The highlight here is of course a 7.7 inches AMOLED display. It is not often that we see AMOLED display on such a large display. At 7.62 mm (0.3 inches) it's one of the thinnest 7.7-inch tablets available. Excite 7 is also one of the lightest we have met at only 380 gram. Despite the small size and low weight, it has got the same Tegra 3 CPU, GeForce graphics card and 1 GB of memory. There was no room for Micro HDMI on this model, but Toshiba has managed to include a Micro USB port and Micro SD card slot Alternatively post this in the Esato forum Please sign in to your Esato account to leave a comment regarding this article hihihans12 years, 7 months ago what an exciting names
