Can I customize the joystick shortcuts on my phone?
You can only customize your "joystick left" shortcut. You do that by changing the first entry in your "My Shortcuts" list on the phone. Here is some more info.
How long should I charge the battery the first time I use the phone (T68/T610/T300/T310), and what are some good charging habbits?
First time you should charge the phone for 4 hours (stated in the manual). Read this thread for more info.

What is this 13sec trick I keep hearing about?
13sec trick is when you do a master reset on your phone, wait aprox. 13 sec (the screen goes blank) and then remove the battery. It's supposed to remove all the preinstalled items from your phone. Note that it's usually not a good idea to remove the battery from an operating phone and might cause damage. Also, you can remove everything the 13sec trick removes by deleting it manually using the 'C' button. There has been some discussion about it here

A. Make sure you have activated the COM port used by the BlueTooth Serial Port (found in your phone services) in the Ericsson Mobile Phone Monitor (control panel). Reading this might be usefull.

I have a BlueTooth dongle. How do I send files to and from my phone?
T68/T610: You can send files to the phone by Right-clicking the file in explorer -> Choosing "Send To" -> "BlueTooth" -> [your phone]
T610: You can use OBEX file exchange that you find in your phone services (BlueTooth Neighbourhood -> [Your Phone] -> "OBEX File Transfer") After you open OBEX file transfer you can simply drag/drop files to and from your phone. Note that Games are not accessible this way
When you send files from the phone to the PC they will end up in your "BlueTooth exchange" folder
T610 owners can browse the contents of the "BlueTooth Exchange" folder from the phone by going to: Connectivity -> BlueTooth -> My devices -> [computer] -> Browse files
Can I send files to the phone using a cable?
You can use Christersson SendFile
Can I upload pictures from my phone to the PC using a cable?
No. You'll have to use IRDA or Bluetooth. Note that you can also send them as E-Mail but you will need WAP.

Does my T610 Hiss?
Well, if you aren't certain it probably doesn't. All the phones with production date 3w23 and later (hardware version R3 and higher) are definetly hiss free. You can find your phone production date on the sticker under the battery. The hardware version is the 3rd word in the 1st line. Note: Most phones before 3w23 have been repaired and are hiss free now.
I flashed my phone to remove the Vodafone customizations. Now I want to upgrade the firmware to the newest version. Will my phone be upgraded with the Vodafone or original firmware?
According to this thread your phone will be flashed back to Vodafone version.
Is it possible to get rid of those ugly Voda Icons?
Yes. This thread might be of interest. You should also take a look at www.mobilexchange.net. New: Here is the tutorial by pleber on how to flash the firmware on your phone yourself.
Note that flashing your phone yourself will void your warranty.

Can I turn off the clock screensaver and use my own screensaver instead?
No. It's impossible to turn off the clock screensaver. It's primary purpose is to save power.
What is that red LED in the joystick on my T610 for?
The red LED will light up when you set the phone on charge while it's off and when the phone is low on power. IMY ringtones can also flash the led when they play.
What's the latest T68 software version?
The latest version is R6A012 (December 9th, 2002). The T68 was first released with the software version R1B.
All T68m models (the old model launched in autumn 2001) can be upgraded to a T68i. With the new software version you will get MMS, My Pictures, CommuniCam Software etc. For an unofficial list of phone software, take a look at Cytech's homepage.
How do I upgrade my Ericsson to the latest software version?
You can't do this yourself. You will have to visit an authorized Ericsson dealer or Service center.

How do I save more than one background picture on the T68?
You can't. You have 10 preinstalled backgrounds on the T68 but can't change any of them :-( This forces you to visit Esato often :-)
Why can't I save the backgrounds to my T68 from AT&T
Rumours are saying that AT&T has removed the "Save image" menu from the phone with software version R5D007 for T68. This is done because they want to block out sites like Esato offering backgrounds, themes and screensavers for free. They will only let download expensive content from the AT&T mMode site. Solution: Sell your AT&T branded T68 with a non-branded T68. Discuss this in the Esato forum
How do I set up my phone for WAP access?
Ericsson has made it very easy to set up your phone to use WAP. Go to this address
and select Country/Network/Mobile phone/WAP service provider and the service will send you a SMS with the correct settings.
This service applies to all Ericsson WAP phones, but will only work for most European countries, but not U.S., Africa,

What's the difference between the T68 and T68i
The Ericsson T68 and the SonyEricsson T68i is the same phone except for the cover and name. The T68i is the first phone released under the new brand SonyEricsson. Existing T68 users can upgrade their phone software to convert their T68 into a T68i. Read the answer from SonyEricsson support regarding this issue.
Which phone models are able to download background images (logos), themes, screensavers and melodies via WAP?
At the time of writing, the following phone models are able to download logos via WAP:
T68(m), T68i, T65, R600, T60d (use T65 logos), T39 and Sagem MY X-5
Themes: T68i and soon the T300
Ringtones: T68, T68i, T65, R600 and T39
Screensavers: T68i
Note that you must have upgraded the old T68(m) with the T68i software to be able to download and change themes and screensavers on this model.
What is the meaning of the blinking LED's on SonyEricsson phones
= telephone on with reception
Red = battery low
Green = charging
Blue = Bluetooth turned on
Can I change the sound for message/SMS alerts in the T68?
No. Not possible in the T68
Am I forced to use WAP to transfer logos, screensavers, ringtones or themes to the phone?
No. You have several options for doing this. Buy a DRS10 or DRS-11 cable, a IrDA dongle or a Bluetooth adapter.
The MSI-6967 Bluetooth dongle is an inexpensive USB adapter.
How do I remove the operator text.
Sorry, but you can't remove the name of the operator.
Can I remove the clock screensaver?
No. The "clock screensaver" automatically starts after 10 sec. The time interval is depending on the length of the custom screensaver you have (optionaly) installed.
